TTB Designers
As Designers we are using our imaginations to design, solve problems and make products.
At TPA, our Time To Be Designers curriculum is exciting, innovative and creative. Children will learn to take risks and learn how to solve real and relevant problems through a variety of contexts.
Maths, Science, Computing and Art knowledge will be linked to our Designer topics, deepening children’s knowledge and learning new concepts through their learning journey.
Each year, the children discover three design strands, where they can use and develop skills to create a variety of products. These strands are:
Food and Nutrition
Mechanisms
Structures
Children will meet the aims of the National Curriculum through:
- Developing the creative, technical and practical expertise needed to perform everyday tasks confidently and to participate successfully in an increasingly technological world.
- Build and apply a repertoire of knowledge, understanding and skills in order to design and make high-quality prototypes and products for a wide range of users.
- Critique, evaluate and test their ideas and products and the work of others.
- Understand and apply the principles of nutrition and learn how to cook.
