TTB Citizens

As Citizens we are developing the knowledge and skills we need to manage ourselves, now and in the future.

This helps us to stay healthy and safe and make the most out of our lives.

Time to be Citizens… is our Personal, Social, Health and Economic, (PSHE) and our Relationships and Sex Education, (RSE) learning. This really does sit at the centre of what we do and it makes sure that we are giving the children the tools to become happy, confident and independent adults.

PSHE is taught through Time to be Citizens… sessions in the classroom, through assemblies and also through other curriculum areas, such as Time to be Religious Investigators...

At TPA, children have the Time to be Citizens… from Early Years Foundation Stage, (EYFS), to Year 6 and as a school we follow the 1 Decision PSHE/RSE scheme.

The children in EYFS are taught through stories involving different colour drops with each colour covering different topics.

Children in years 1 - 6 are taught through videos that introduce dilemmas and the consequences of making decisions in different real-life situations. These cover a range of topics which are mapped out through the year, these are:

  • Keeping/Staying safe
  • Keeping/Staying Healthy
  • Relationships (Years 1 -3)
  • Growing and Changing (Years 4 - 6)
  • Being Responsible
  • Feelings and Emotions
  • Computer safety
  • Our World (Years 1 -3)
  • The Working World (Years 4 - 6)
  • A World Without Judgement (Year 4 - 6)
