TTB Citizens
As Citizens we are developing the knowledge and skills we need to manage ourselves, now and in the future.
Time To Be Citizens at TPA is our Personal, Social, Health and Economic, (PSHE), and our Relationships and Sex Education, (RSE), learning.
The aim of the learning in our TTB Citizens is to give the children the tools to become happy, confident and independent adults.
Our TTB Citizens curriculum progresses from the Early Years Foundation Stage, (EYFS), through Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, following the 1 Decision PSHE/RSE schemes of work. Children in EYFS learn through stories involving different colour drops, with stories covering different topics that are presented through short videos and books. Children in Key Stages 1 and 2 learn through videos that introduce dilemmas and the consequences of making decisions in different real-life situations.
The three core themes of our TTB Citizens curriculum are:
-
Health and Wellbeing
-
Relationships
-
Living in the Wider World
Our PSHE/RSE teaching and learning meets the aims of the Programme of Study for PSHE Education and ensures that all children at TPA are able to:
-
develop effective relationships, assume greater personal responsibility and manage personal safety, including online
-
make an active contribution to their communities as they are introduced to the wider world
-
manage the physical and emotional changes at puberty
“Citizenship is the chance to make a difference to the place where you belong.”
