TTB Artists

Choose a subject:

As Artists we are exploring different media and artists to be able to express our thoughts and feelings creatively.

Our Art Curriculum has been designed to ensure that pupils not only learn technical art skills but that they ‘learn through art, as well as about art.’  Children are encouraged to explore and experiment with a range of media, while being taught a progression of knowledge and skills. Children will learn about and be inspired by a range of artists from both past and present, which support the learning taking place, that term, within other subject areas to enhance the termly theme.

Children develop their understanding and skills through the key concepts of; line, form, shape, colour, pattern and tone.  The children then use their learning in these concepts to create art pieces through the mediums of drawing, painting, sculpture and printing.

Our Art teaching meets the aims of the national curriculum and ensures that all children at TPA are able to:
  • produce creative work by exploring their ideas and recording their experiences
  • become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques
  • evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
  • know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
